 Heart on Coin "KIZUNA" project

On 11 March 2011 a huge earthquake struck off the northern coast of Honshu island of Japan, triggering a massive tsunami along the Japanese coast. Tens of thousands of lives were lost, and many more are enduring the hardship in the bitterly cold weather to live on. Seeing such hardship, students of Kwansei Gakuin University, who felt impossible not to do something for them, gathered and launched this Heart on Coin "KIZUNA" Project on 16 March 2011.

We ask ourselves what we could do for the people who lost their homes, families and jobs in the earthquake and tsunami. What would be most needed under such circumstances? This project will deliver both donations and messages to the suffering people. Delivery of messages alone would not fill their empty stomachs. We are also aware that the amount of donations we could manage to deliver to them would not be able to compensate for all what they have lost. What we could donate is minimal considering the scale of losses and pains people have suffered. Nevertheless, by accompanying the donations with the messages which communicate our feelings, we believe that our thoughts beyond the amount of donations will be conveyed to them.

You can find the latest information about the project on Facebook.
